In 2007, Managing Director Peter Busby began a cross country tour of the largest Canadian cities as Chair of the
Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and a leading expert in the design of green buildings and sustainable communities. During
each stop on the tour, Peter meets with municipal authorities to present "Canadian Cities in a Climate of Change," which examines
each urban area's policies and environmental conditions, such as current GHG emissions in CO2 per person per year.
The tour followed a major survey of the 27 largest cities in Canada, completed by the Busby Perkins+Will research department on behalf of
the CaGBC. The survey evaluated city policies regarding sustainable site development, materials, energy, indoor air quality, water and
operating policies and requested links to policies, bylaws and city programs. The firm compiled the survey results and produced
a comprehensive handbook detailing North America's leading city policies.
